Mr Colin Dibble MBChB(Hons) DipIMC FCEM
I qualified from University of Zimbabwe (where I am from originally) in 1994. I spent 2 years post qualification in the central teaching hospitals before going out into the Zimbabwe rural areas where I worked for 4 years doing everything (as the only doctor); a tremendous, though at times scary, experience.
I came to UK in 2000 and since then I have completed all my basic and specialist training in the North West region, initially with the Diploma in Immediate Medical Care (Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh), as I have extensive pre-hospital experience with the Harare Fire & Ambulance Service, then the MRCS(A&E) also from Edinburgh. This was upgraded to FRCSEd 2008. I underwent the A&E registrar training programme in NW and gained the FCEM exam in May 2007 and my CCT in April 2008. I am an instructor in ALS, APLS and ATLS, though I only actually instruct on ATLS anymore (time).
I am currently an Emergency Medicine Consultant at the Pennine Acute NHS Trust based at the Royal Oldham Hospital. I am the Trauma lead for Pennine Acutet. I also have an interest in Prehospital care and anaesthetics. I am currently the Chairman of Greater Manchester TARN.
